Terry Salman, BA, MBA - Director of Research

Terry Salman founded Salman Partners Inc. in 1994 and is its Chairman, President and CEO.

Terry spent 21 years with Nesbitt Thomson. Between 1973 and 1978 he was a research analyst in Montreal, covering, among other companies, Canadian Pacific and the Canadian chartered banks. From 1978 to 1985 he was head of Corporate and Government Finance in Western Canada, during which time he built the companyís first investment banking operation in Alberta and British Columbia, ultimately holding the title of Senior Vice-President, as well as being a director. In 1986 he took on the responsibility for the firmís corporate and government finance activities in British Columbia, the western United States and the Pacific Rim. In early 1990s he was promoted to Executive Vice-President and Director. Over the years, Terry has been a director of a number of public and private companies, including Southam Inc.

Terry has used his strong business skills in many volunteer positions over the years. He was Chairman of St. Paulís Hospital Foundation of Vancouver for eight years. Terry also served on the Financial Advisory Board XI Conference on AIDS, as Trustee of St. Paulís Hospital, and as Director of the International Financial Centre of Vancouver. Currently, he is the Chairman of the Vancouver Public Library Foundation. Terry is the Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Investment Dealers Association of Canada.

Terry holds a Bachelor of Arts from Chaminade University of Hawaii (1970) and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Hartford (1973). Prior to this he served four years in the United States Marine Corps, including a year in Vietnam.
